	Description: The Management Framework for a System of Marine Protected Areas for the US Virgin Islands was prepared for DPNR-CZM by Lloyd Gardner (commissioned by UVI) on September 24, 2002. This document is intended to be a critical first step in the preparation of a system plan for protected area planning. This document provides the guidance for the development of a comprehensive system plan for protected areas in the USVI.

	Description: The Rapid Socio – Economic Assessment of Marine Resource Utilization in the US Virgin Islands was prepared for DPNR-CZM by Hinds Unlimited (commissioned by UVI) on June 21, 2002 (draft document). The primary objective of this assessment was to identify gaps in data sets and/or inadequacies of data gathering efforts, to suggest areas for primary research that would support a comprehensive socio-economic assessment. It is anticipated that findings of the rapid socio-economic assessment spur and interest in the preparation of a comprehensive socio-economic assessment and marine resource valuation at a future date.
	Resource Description Report	Pending Availability
	Description: The Resource Description Report was prepared for DPNR-CZM by Island Resources Foundation (commissioned by UVI) on August 14, 2002. This report provides some of the background information necessary to design a successful system of marine protected areas in the USVI. The goals of the report are to: Describe the current status of the Territorial Sea of the USVI Summarize previous efforts to identify and create marine protected areas within the coastal and near coastal waters of the USVI Assess generally accepted criteria for marine protected area in the USVI Suggest priorities for MPAs in the Territorial Sea of the USVI
	St. Croix East End Marine Park Management Plan	Adobe (PDF)	452KB
	Description: The St. Croix East End Marine Park Management Plan was prepared for DPNR-CZM by The Nature Conservancy (commissioned by UVI) on July 18, 2002. This management plan is a working document that synthesizes a range of issues that were identified during the park planning process. This plan presents management objectives that represent short-term, measurable steps toward achieving sustainable use of coastal and marine resources within the park.
